Back to Portugal !

So after some really productive days in Italy with David , Casper , Riccardo , and Thomas, i must say I'm much more confident about the entire widget project, the ideas that are in the table right now are pointing all in the same direction, and that is desktop integration the style will start to reflect in the coming days all the ideas we talked about in this days during the meeting. There are only some minor things that we need to fine tune in terms of what we want. And we talked about all sorts of cool ideas for the next kde cycle, like visual integration of plasma and the widget theme, what is good and bad right now with the icons, target group users, and life in general. Its wonderful to work with people like the kde people, we might not agree always but share the same goals. So its good to be home again, its great to be a part of kde. Thank you so much!!!

Making pretty pictures in to code...

So this days in Milan we been working allot making interaction code , that is making Casper Boemann head go nuts making allot of versions so we achieve pixel perfection. Its a hard road but one we must cross. things are improving so much, and i must say I´m falling in love with the theme.

Moving along

Small Small icons are important we know that. KDE apps are important. But also important is desktop integration with non kde apps like scribus. So having that in mind i started a new set of action icons staring from the smallest icon to the biggest one, so have a look at some of the ones we made so far..... The best part is that most of this icons are usable in all sorts of apps like koffice and openoffice.

More apps, more mimetypes.

This is a quick post just t show some of the latest developments in oxygen first , krita icon and krita mimetype Second Kchart withe his mimetype alongside. Finally the midi mimetype in another position.

Oxygen going fast, fast, faster.

Last week was wonderful for oxygen, we set a net commit record. And made some of the most exiting work i have seen so far has icon goes. David Miller just joined the Oxygen effort and he is ...... well amazing. The mime type icons are going through a huge amount of work and are rely looking so much better David (the other one ;) ) is making some of his best work ever, there. The Sound theme just got some more fresh super sounds from Nuno Povoa. And I redid the mouse and some more little stuff that i think are ok ;).

Help us make your desktop better.

OK! time to give us some input on the work we have done so far. OpenUsability have prepared us a fantastic icon survey . Please click on it, and call all your friends to take the survey .

Discovering a new desktop

Since last weekend i have a running kde4 desktop on my computer. Many thanks to Riccardo for setting it up you rule. What i found missing was a nice wallpaper that matched my brand new almost working KDE. So today i decided to play a bit with the new features of inkscape, the end result was this 1920x1200 and 1280x1024 the only problem is that the rendering time is about 3 hours :) this means one of 2 things inkscape is slow with big images with lots of filters or i need i new CPU :) I bet it is the second.
