KDE Pinheiro

Since last weekend i have a running kde4 desktop on my computer. Many thanks to Riccardo for setting it up you rule. What i found missing was a nice wallpaper that matched my brand new almost working KDE. So today i decided to play a bit with the new features of inkscape, the end result was this 1920x1200 and 1280x1024 the only problem is that the rendering time is about 3 hours :) this means one of 2 things inkscape is slow with big images with lots of filters or i need i new CPU :) I bet it is the second.

One thing I realized from my last post is that Oxygen does in fact use less red than blue :). Well the fact that red is a color associated with mandatory rules and warnings might have something to do with it, so that means that red is probably not the best color for lets say...... a mouse. Btw after all the comments i got i will try to make a mouse in the other position that is with the buttons facing up and improve the contrast of white. David sugested to me the other day that i worked the bell icon a bit (the curent one looks like a UFO in small sizes). One thing lead to another, warning, bell puff red bell! So what do you guys think? (BTW 22x22px and 16x16px still neads to be done).

So 3 device icons, 3 colors only one winner, you decide :) The frist one that i made was the blue one and it was based on an older version of the same icon but a bit off standard device position. So then i satrted to wonder if blue was the right color for it , and made 2 more, result? Now im a bit lost i like them all .... :) Ps the old one is still going to be used somewere but not as an device icon.

Im so hapy!!! Today i comited my frist piece of artwork to kdelibs. Its Kteatime and i think Lpary will like it ;)

Has i promised here is a comparison betwin the old play and the new play icon . Made some improvements to the new one . Righ now im tempted to use the new one, the blue, but the old one was very sharp and fited beter a oxygen icon set that seams to be fading. Seams black is not that popular :P (seams like there is some confusion on witch one is new or old hope the new image helps) david is puting up a good fight

What do you guys think of this player icons? I am thinking of redoing them im a more energetic Fashion. But keeping its coolness. Any way im not sure what do you guys think?

When someone asks me how is oxygen doing, how are the icons going, I immediately say that the icons are going great, they are :), but i also remember them that oxygen is a lot more than an icon set. Oxygen is a Cursor theme , a widget theme, an icon theme, a site theme and artwork platform for kde, and also a sound theme. So how are we doing? We are doing really well, the icon theme is now starting to look mature, well developed and good looking. The widget theme is looking better and better by the day, Thomas rules! And the sound theme is starting to make its first steps. I asked Nuno Povoa to do a theme song for kde 4, something that lasts a bit longer than 4 sec's something that we could use in kind off tv comercials, p resentations.... this is what he came up with , its great i think, a truly great start and its 1 minute and 15 seconds and that's about how long it takes to read this text.
